Aleksander Werecki przegrał z Yu Kayamą 1:3 w 1/8 finału singla. To był ostatni spośród reprezentantów Polski w turnieju gry pojedynczej kadetów. Polak grał słabiej od Japończyka, ale dzięki szczęściu mógł sprawić niespodziankę.
Seta na 1:1 wygrał po trzech kolejnych zagraniach w kant i po siatce. W czwartej partii przegrywał już 5:10, ale znów dwa szczęśliwe zagrania i pomyłki Azjaty sprawiły, że doprowadził do 9:10. Decydującą piłkę jednak Werecki zepsuł i pozostał mu już tylko turniej deblowy.
Sukces osiągnęła za to Julia Ślązak, która w 1/8 finału singla kadetek wygrała 3:2 z Brazylijką Bruną Takahashi. Ślązak pozostała jedyną Polką w zawodach singla kadetek. W pojedynku o medal zmierzy się z Białorusinką Darią Trygołos. Rywalka Polki w turnieju drużynowym wygrała cztery z pięciu pojedynków, wszystkie po 3:0. Uległa dopiero Rosjance Marii Tajłakowej 2:3 i była to porażka przesądzająca o odpadnięciu Białorusinek z turnieju drużynowego już w ćwierćfinale. W singlu Trygołos dwie poprzednie rundy też wygrywała po 3:0.
